How it started
Vidoсeo is one of those projects where the idea doesn’t come from developers but from professionals who face specific challenges in their work and reach out to tech agencies to turn their ideas into a product. That’s exactly how surgical oncologist Dr. Shawn Steen approached us. In his practice, patients would often ask him:
- What’s the process for preparing for surgery?
- What will the surgery itself be like?
- What’s recovery going to look like?
And throughout their interactions with patients, doctors kept encountering the same questions. Some answers had to be repeated multiple times, taking up valuable time for both doctors and patients. Wouldn’t it be much more convenient to have video guides that provide step-by-step answers to all your questions about the upcoming surgery?

How Vidoceo works: Physician Perspective
After registering as a physician, you gain access to your personal dashboard where you can add and manage your nurses and patients. For convenient management of large patient lists, we have added search functionality by name or email, as well as a simple alphabetical selector.
How patient education works
After a physician adds a patient, they can assign a series of educational videos. All information on the site is HIPAA-compliant (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and both the site and videos are available in English and Spanish.
All videos come with script versions, are created specifically for Vidoceo, and are divided into specific stages and categories, making them convenient to select. Physicians can select relevant videos in any order, while the client receives a logically structured hierarchy, keeping them fully informed about the upcoming surgery.
